The Creative & Curious Companion is unique because it provides a personal and authentic glimpse into our family's life and experiences as we live and homeschool in Central New York state. We are not only blessed with a wonderful neighborhood of kind and generous neighbors but we are blessed with a family property in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains within a 2 hour drive in which we travel to often to spend time on the lake or in the woods with family and friends. We love to adventure into the largest park in the contiguous United States, the Adirondack Mountains, which covers one-fifth of New York State, leaving much to explore, learn, grow and connect as a family.
Our current nature exploration and expedition goals involve our kiddos continuing to earn badges for completed assignments through Wild Explorers Club, and our recent addition of climbing all 25 Fire Towers in the Adirondacks.
While this website is new as of October 2023, the concept and vision of this site has been sitting in my mind for years without the means or time to make it a reality. With that said we have many past and present adventures, recipes, hand crafts and diy tutorials that we are so excited to share with you here with the hopes of inspiring you to reframe your idea of homeschooling and learn to embrace the ebb and flow that is homeschooling. It may take a while before we can post enough content to have a featured series or posts but our hope is that we will be able to create enough content to have a 'Family Adventures' series where we share our experiences traveling and adventuring with our children, a "Home + Body" series that shares delicious and nutritious recipes and home and body products, as well as a shop to purchase d.i.y. kits, handcrafts and print on demand items to keep your curiosity growing and be creative at home as a family.
